Kannada star Upendra joins Ram Pothineni's next, to play Surya Kumar in the comedy caper

Ram Pothineni is one of the most energetic stars in Telugu cinema and has a massive following. However, he is currently going through a rough patch with a series of flops in his career. To make a strong comeback, he has joined hands with director Mahesh Babu P of Miss Shetty Mr Polishetty fame.

Upendra signs a Telugu biggie

The shooting of the film is nearing completion, and the first-look teaser, along with the title, will be revealed on May 15, 2025, which also marks the birthday of the Shivam and Masala actor. A special highlight of the project is that none other than Kannada star Upendra will be seen in a key role. The star hero has officially signed on, and his portions will be shot later this month.

With this, 95% of the film will be wrapped up, except for a few songs. The makers confirmed the news through a post stating: "Honoured to present our Superstar @nimmaupendra garu as 'SURYA KUMAR', a tribute to the spirit of every Superstar we admire and look up to." Upendra will play the role of Surya Kumar in the film, which features music by Mervin Solomon. His inclusion has thrilled fans in a big way.

Ram Pothineni's next gets an interesting title

The buzz is that the Kalpana star is doing a unique and powerful role, which is expected to be one of the film's biggest highlights. There is also talk that the film has been titled Andhra King Taluka, a name that sounds quite fancy and intriguing.

Ram will be seen in a brand-new look for this project, and based on the title, expectations are high. A source close to the unit revealed that Ram will portray a die-hard fan of a top Telugu star in the film.
