Did you know that Udhayanidhi Stalin and actor Srikanth became friends, thanks to a popular cricketer. Udhayanidhi Stalin narrated the story of how they got introduced to each other during the audio launch of his recent release Kannai Nambathey. Speaking on the occasion, the actor said, "When I was getting married in 2002, I was doling out invitations to everyone I knew. I was about to hand over the invitation to ace cricketer Krishnamachari Srikanth. So, I called him up and I was asked to come to the Valasaravakkam address."
Udhayanidhi said that he was a tad perplexed as he knew cricketer Srikanth's house in ECR. "I have been to his house many times during my childhood and I knew that he resided in ECR. Why is he asking me to come to Valasaravakkam, I wondered. Moreover, I was also wondering why he was addressing me as 'Sir' on the phone."
He added, "Nevertheless, the next day, I called him and asked him where he was and the person on the other end said that he was at producer Aascar Ravichandran's office. I again wondered what he was doing at a film producer's office. It was only after I reached the destination that I realised that all this while I was talking to actor Srikanth, whose debut film Rojakoottam was releasing that year. But we stayed in touch since then and I am glad that we are working together now."
