Kannappa has managed to post decent numbers in its first weekend. But as the weekdays start, one needs to see how the film performs from here on.

Kannappa is one of the most talked-about films in recent times, as it features some of the biggest stars in Indian cinema in key roles. The likes of Akshay Kumar, Prabhas, and Mohanlal appear in pivotal parts. The film lived up to the hype and started with positive word of mouth at the box office.
The fantasy drama completed its first weekend and crossed the Rs 50 crore gross worldwide mark in just three days. These are impressive numbers for a Vishnu Manchu film. A chunk of the collections came from the Telugu version, and surprisingly, the Hindi collections have also picked up.
The US collections are decent as well, but the real test begins on Monday, and we’ll have to see how the film performs during the weekdays. Mukesh Kumar Singh directed the film, which stars Preity Mukundan as the female lead. She has gained a solid following after the film's release, which is notable given the ensemble cast.
Vishnu Manchu, who also produced the film, has stated that Kannappa will not be released on OTT within 10 weeks of its theatrical release. He is playing the waiting game, seeking a better deal, and has openly mentioned this in the press.
Vishnu Manchu is often a target of trolls, but for Kannappa, he has received only praise, especially for his performance in the climax. Prabhas enters in the second half of the film, and from there, the story rises to another level with an emotionally charged climax.
Kannappa has been mounted on a massive budget, and Vishnu says he did not make the film for box office numbers and is not overly concerned about collections. He is content with the revenue generated through post-theatrical rights.
As no other big films were released alongside Kannappa, it faces little competition this week. However, it still needs to post strong numbers to remain in the safe zone.
