Actor and director Rishab Shetty’s film Kantara: Chapter 1 is showing no signs of stopping as it continues to storm at the box office. The film, which is enjoying its long weekend run, zooms past Rs 200 crore worldwide, making it among the top Kannada highest grossers this year.

Kantara: Chapter 1 starring Rishab Shetty who has also helmed the film, is probably the biggest Kannada film to come out this year. The mythical actioner which serves the prequel to the 2022 film Kantara, has been collected Rs 218 crore worldwide, as per Sacnilk report. Within India, it has made a sum of Rs 169 crore. Enjoying the long weekend, Kantara: Chapter 1 collections spiked on Saturday and saw a growth from Rs 46 crore on Friday to Rs 55 crore.
Kantara: Chapter 1 is enroute to become the highest grossing Kannada film this year, if not for animated feature Mahavatar Narasimha. If taken only live action features, then the Rishab Shetty film tops the list, followed by Raj B Shetty's Su From So.
The Hindi version of Kantara: Chapter 1 is doing much better than the original Kannada version. On Saturday alone, the film made Rs 14.5 crore in Kannada, while it made a whopping Rs 19 crore in Hindi, with Telugu version collecting Rs 11.75 crore.
