Rishab Shetty’s Kantara Chapter 1 opened with an amazing box office collection in its first weekend and mimicked its success even in the second weekend. The Kannada film shattered many records with its marvellous storytelling that impressed fans all over India. Not just South, but Kantara Chapter 1 also emerged as one of the biggest films of the year with its double-digit earnings in the Hindi BO as well. Kantara Chapter 1 witnessed a dip in the numbers as it collected the lowest numbers on Wednesday (October 15). The Kantara prequel has earned Rs 4-4.5 crore as per early estimates. Thus, making its total collection as Rs 160 crore (approximately). On Tuesday, it minted Rs 6.25-6.75, which was significantly better than Day 14. Despite a slump, Kantara Chapter 1 has made its mark with acclaimed reviews and great box office collection so far.
The numbers and occupancy of Kantara in Hindi are declining, according to an analysis by industry tracker Sacnilk. Although it maintains decent earnings in the other languages, Kantara plunged at the Hindi BO in its second week. On Day 14 (October 15), Kantara Chapter 1 covered an overall Hindi occupancy of 10.61% on October 11. It had an occupancy of 7.17% for morning shows, while the afternoon shows had a spike with 9.88%, followed by the evening shows with 10.13% occupancy. The night shows witnessed the highest occupancy of the day with 15.26%.
