Although it surpassed Rs 500 crore at the worldwide collection, the Kannada magnum opus is now eyeing to mirror its success in the domestic collection as well. Kantara Chapter 1 is set to shatter more records as it crawls towards its Rs 500-crore collection in India net collection. After hitting the screens on October 2, Kantara: Chapter 1 minted Rs 485.40 in its fifteen days of theatrical run, according to Sacnilk’s early estimates. On Day 15, the prequel earned Rs 9 crore in the domestic collection. Comparing the numbers with the previous days, this was the lowest Thursday, with only a single-digit collection in its entire run.

Kantara Chapter 1 maintained its consistency in the Hindi collection as it raked in Rs 4 crore (early estimates) on October 16, similar to Wednesday, when it garnered Rs 4-4.5 crore. The Kantara prequel has etched history by becoming one of the most successful South films, as it collected Rs 164 crore (approximately). On Wednesday, it earned Rs 4.5 crore, and on Tuesday, Rs 6.25-6.75. As per the analysis by industry tracker Sacnilk, Kantara saw a slump in its occupancy in the Hindi language on Day 15 (October 16), Kantara Chapter 1 covered an overall Hindi occupancy of 10.14%. It had an occupancy of 7.59% for morning shows, while the afternoon shows had a spike with 9.99%, followed by the evening shows with 9.35% occupancy. The night shows witnessed the highest occupancy of the day with 16.62%.
