Kantara Chapter 1 new chapter poster out: Rishab Shetty gets fiercer for his more action-packed prequel

Kannada cinema, which gained a pan-Indian momentum with films like the KGF franchise, and Kantara, is yet again set to thrill the audience with the follow-up to its 2022 Kannada action thriller film Kantara starring Rishab Shetty. While we had earlier reported that a prequel for the film titled Kantara Chapter 1 is in the making, the makers on Monday released a new theatrical poster reconfirming the release date as announced earlier. Kantara Chapter 1 is all set to hit theatres on October 2, for Gandhi Jayanthi and here’s a look at the new poster released.
Kantara Chapter 1 new poster out
After helming films like Ricky, Kirik Party and Sa.Hi.Pra.Shaale Kasaragodu, Koduge: Ramanna Rai, Rishab Shetty wrote and directed Kantara in 2022. He also starred in the lead role in the film which became a pan-Indian blockbuster and fetched Rishab the National Film Award for Best Actor.
Soon after the success of the fantasy action thriller, the makers of Kantara announced the second instalment, which will, in fact, be the prequel. Titled Kantara Chapter 1, the film will be released on October 2. A new poster was released on Monday, which shows Rishab in a fierce avatar, as he is seen carrying an axe in one hand and a shield with multiple arrows pierced through it. With evident scars throughout, as Rishab screams through, the poster of Kantara Chapter 1 gives us an insight that the film will be far more action-packed.
What else do we know about Kantara Chapter 1
With Rishab Shetty once again returning to his director's chair, Kantara Chapter 1 will be produced by Vijay Kiragandur under Hombale Films banner. The film will be released in Kannada, Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, Bengali and in English as well, on October 2.
As much as expectations are on the project, Kantara Chapter 1 is also riddled with controversy. So far, three deaths have occurred on the film's sets, all of them, strangely, 33-year-old. All three of them were junior artistes.
