Kantara Chapter 1 has been on OTT for nearly 2 weeks already, albeit in the four south language versions – Kannada, Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam – only. Ever since Rishab Shetty’s blockbuster film dropped on Amazon Prime Video, fans from the Hindi belt have been wondering when they’d be able to watch the film in the comfort of their homes. During the film’s original OTT release, the makers had confirmed an 8-week window for the Hindi version and since Prime Video had been credited as exclusive streaming partner, it was understood that it would land on the platform, unlike the 2022 Kantara, which went to two streamers. While the south versions went to Prime Video, the Hindi dubbed one went to Netflix.

Once the 8-week window for the Hindi version was confirmed, a tentative date began doing the rounds, with November 27 said to be the most likely one. According to sources from the streamer, Prime Video has indeed fixed November 27 as the date that the Hindi version of Kantara Chapter 1 will drop on the platform. Written and directed by Rishab, the film has the distinction of being the highest grosser of 2025.

The film, according to trackers, is said to have made Rs 847.7 cr worldwide gross so far. In fact, it did not slow down after the OTT release, raking in Rs 15 cr in its 5th week at the box office. About half of Kantara Chapter 1’s box office figures have come from the Kannada original and Hindi versions, with the latter reportedly accounting for about Rs 221.4 cr.
