Kantara OTT release date: When and Where to watch the adventure-thriller starring Rishab Shetty

Rishab Shetty's Kantara is arguably the biggest and most celebrated film of the season. The adventure-thriller has been written and directed by Shetty himself who also stars in the lead role of Shiva and during its almost two-month-long theatrical run, Kantara has managed to collect more than Rs. 400 crores (gross) at the box office. So, for obvious reasons, audiences across the world have been ardently looking forward to the digital premiere of the film which, as it turns out, will happen on November 24, 2022.

Yes, Kantara's streaming partner Amazon Prime Video took to social media recently to announce emphatically that the film will have its exclusive worldwide premiere on November 24. Members of Prime Video will be able to stream the film in the original Kannada language and also in dubbed form in Telugu, Tamil, and Malayalam. 

The delay in the release of the Hindi version, according to a few reports, is a result of the 8-week contractual obligation but one could expect Kantara Hindi to drop on Prime Video in the first week of December. As far as Amazon Prime Video's rent-only model is concerned, it is unclear whether the Hindi dubbed version would be kept on store (with an additional rental fee) or made available for direct streaming post its release. 

Previously, KGF: Chapter 2 was up for early access on Prime to both for a limited period before it was made available free of cost to all the members. In a similar manner, Mani Ratnam's Ponniyin Selvan 1 too arrived on Amazon Prime Video as a rental-only listing for a few days before the Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada versions were made available to the subscribers: Ponniyin Selvan 1, or PS 1 Hindi, is currently streaming on the rent-only basis (Rs. 199) and will come to the platform on November 26.

Regardless, netizens have responded with great enthusiasm to the news of Kantara's digital premiere. The Hombale Films production also stars Sapthami Gowda, Achyuth Kumar, Kishore, and others with B. Ajaneesh Loknath scoring the music and Arvind S. Kashyap handling the cinematography.
