If you thought it couldn’t get bigger and better than Rajinikanth appreciating Rishab Shetty’s ‘divine blockbuster’ Kantara, with a social media post, well, think again. The Tamil superstar, it would seem, has been so taken in by Rishab’s story-telling that he made time to meet the Kannada filmmaker-actor. Thrilled beyond bits at the opportunity to meet and have a conversation with Rajinikanth, Rishab shared images from their meeting on social media.

Along with the pictures Rishab wrote a post using Rajinikanth’s famous Bhaasha dialogue that roughly translates to ‘If I say it once, it is equivalent to saying it a 100 times’, writing instead, “If you praise once, to us, it is like praising it a 100 times”. Rishab added that he would be forever grateful to the Tamil superstar for watching, supporting and appreciating Kannada cinema.

The official handle of Hombale Films, the banner that produced the film, also shared the images with an accompanying message that read, “ ‘Master and his Apprentice’ engaged in an insightful conversation! One & Only @rajinikanth sir with our #Shiva, @shetty_rishab”.

Earlier this week, Rajinikanth had taken to social media saying that Rishab’s film had literally given him goosebumps. Calling the film a masterpiece, he wrote, ““The unknown is more than the known” no one could have said this better in cinema than @hombalefilms #KantaraMovie you gave me goosebumps @shetty_rishab. Rishab hats off to you as a writer, director and actor.Congrats to the whole cast and crew of this masterpiece in indian cinema.”

Rishab responded to this with, “Dear @rajinikanth sir 😍 you are biggest Superstar in India and I have been your fan since childhood. Your appreciation is my Dream come true. You inspire me to do more local stories and inspire our audiences everywhere. Thank you sir.”

Kantara, which released in theatres on September 30, as a Kannada film meant for local audiences, caught the fancy of movie-goers across the country, prompting the makers to dub the film earlier than planned into Hindi, Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam. The film, which has recorded record footfalls for Hombale Films in Karnataka, has made a whopping Rs 200+ crore at the box office and is still going strong.
