Kantara has steadily extended its reach at the international box office. Having grossed over Rs. 20 crores overseas, the trade reports now reveal that Rishab Shetty's film has achieved a new milestone by grossing over £100,000 at the United Kingdom box office. Kantara, which released worldwide on September 30, has grossed £111,245 so far in UK. The film is currently in 30 shows across the United Kingdom and Ireland.

Not very long ago, Kantara became the first-ever south Indian film to play in cinema halls in the United States and has reportedly been screened in the same theatre since the time of its release. Kantara has grossed over $1M dollars at the U.S. box office so far.

As far as the UK box office is concerned, the year 2022 has been particularly good for Indian cinema with multiple films crossing the £500,000 mark. To make it more vibrant and interesting, films of a varied kind have worked so far: from period blockbusters like RRR and Gangubai Kathiawadi to action epics like Vikram and K.G.F: Chapter 2, the U.K. audience has embraced films across the board.

Cumulatively, KGF 2 has reportedly grossed over £1M at the UK box office with the Hindi version alone collecting over £231,782 in the UK.

Kantara, written and directed by Rishab Shetty who also stars in the leading role in the film, has been produced by Hombale Films. The film has already grossed over Rs. 250 crores worldwide to emerge as one of the biggest commercial successes of recent times. Originally made and released in Kannada, the film was later dubbed into Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, and Malayalam following excellent word-of-mouth publicity. Kantara Hindi and Kantara Telugu have managed to hold their own to be declared as bona fide box office hits: both the films are currently eyeing the Rs. 50 crores mark across the world.
