In the course of making Kantara, his biggest and most popular title to date, Rishab Shetty has apparently grown closer to nature. Much of the narrative of the said film is about the travails and the folklore of the tribal population of the Karavali region and with Rishab emboldening the cause as the protagonist, the entire country and beyond was compelled to take notice.

Kantara isn't a political or agenda film by any means but the ethos of this bona fide 'masala' film is rooted in the conflicts and lives of the aforementioned section of society - and, perhaps, that is why everyone loves the film.

And now, in his pursuit to conceive and develop the prequel project Kantara 2, it seems that Rishab Shetty has again been inspired by the forests of Karnataka. The actor-director recently revealed that he has had the opportunity to visit several essential and conflicted forest areas of the state and engage with the people & the officials about the prevailing concerns. And in a sincere attempt to make the best use of his position as a celebrity, Rishab has voiced these concerns to the chief minister of Karnataka, Basavaraj Bommai.

From the intrusion of wild elephants to other concerns like forest fires, Rishab Shetty's discussion with relevant forest officials and field staff has helped him draw a few pressing issues and present them to CM Bommai in the form of a formal letter. In another post that he shared on social media, Rishab Shetty can be seen sharing the letter with the CM who, apparently, has assured that the issues will be taken care of at the earliest.

"Visited Bandipur, BRT, and Nagarahole after Kanthara. During my trip, I had the opportunity to meet with individuals from conflict areas and engage in discussions with forest officials and field staff. The issues and problems raised during these discussions were brought to the attention of the honorable Chief Minister of Karnataka, Mr. Basavaraja Bommai. I am grateful for his support and commitment to resolving many of these issues in the next few days," wrote Rishab Shetty in his social media post.

Rishab is expected to take Kantara 2 on floors in mid-2023. The Hombale Films' production will see him playing the protagonist but with a new central cast surrounding him.
