During a recent media interaction, standup comic and actor Kapil Sharma shared some heart-warming anecdotes from his personal life. He also spoke about how the film Zwigato, the directorial venture of Nandita Das, changed him as a person.

Recalling one incident that involved a delivery boy, Kapil said, "My wife once ordered a cake for all of us. When the delivery boy came delivered the order, we realised that the cake was upside down and the decoration was messed up. The delivery boy quickly took back the cake and said that he would return with a fresh piece. I told my wife to call him back from the elevator, and asked him to give us the cake as it was. Look, at the end of the day, we will be cutting and eating the cake, and he didn't mess up the cake intentionally. So, I told him, 'Bhaiya koi baat nahi, aise hi de do yeh cake'."

Kapil said that because of the research that went into his character in Zwigato, he knew that the delivery executive would probably have to pay a penalty, which is why he accepted the cake as it was.

"There was lot of research that went into this character, and I got to know that there are companies who charge a penalty from delivery boys if the items are damaged during delivery, which means that the poor fellow has to spend his own money to save his job. These things come under consideration when it comes to their incentives and performance meters. After doing Zwigato, I am more compassionate about people who play such an integral role in our daily lives, ensuring that we live hustle-free lives," said the actor.

The story of Zwigato is set in Bhubaneswar and is about the lives of two people, Manas and Pratima - a couple who is forced to do odd jobs to make ends meet after the COVID-19 pandemic. In the film, Kapil plays Manas, who is a food delivery rider.

Produced by Applause Entertainment, Zwigato releases in theatres on March 17.
