On Monday, a video of Kapil Sharma started making the rounds of him moving boxes into a truck, hinting that the comedian-actor is shifting to a new place. Now we have to know that his Diwali gift to his beloved fans is that he has partnered up with Netflix for a brand-new, never-before-seen comedic spectacle. After a break from TV, Kapil and the team are getting ready to make you laugh with a full-fledged show available on Netflix.

A new comedy series on the horizon

In a statement, Monika Shergill, Vice President, Content, Netflix India, said that Kapil Sharma is a huge entertainer whose legacy and comedy have made him a household name across India for many years. They are tremendously proud to expand their association with him and bring the King of Indian Comedy, alongside his beloved and well-known castmates, to Netflix for an all-new comedy show. Kapil will continue to make India laugh and also delight millions of his viewers globally now, from his new address—Netflix.

The new series isn't a stand-alone comedy special, but it does promise twice as much hilarity and fun in each episode as previous ones. The show promises to bring back the Kapil family's trademark eccentricities and, more significantly, their incredibly welcoming hospitality.

Netflix has only dropped a hint that The Kapil Sharma Show has been changed from TV to OTT; however, more details are yet to be unfolded. Moreover, the premiere date for the upcoming outing is yet to be announced.

Meanwhile, this is not Kapil's first show on Netflix; the comedian-actor released his stand-up special, I'm Not Done Yet, in 2022.
