Kapil Sharma on playing a delivery man in Zwigato: If I were offered the role of a scientist, doctor, or businessman, I may have felt uncomfortable

The sad truths of life are sometimes revealed to us through humour. Hence, it really shouldn't come as a surprise that India's most popular comic is offering us a moving tale. With Zwigato, Kapil Sharma and Nandita Das have brought attention to a segment of society that is all but invisible. The filmmaker-actor began to tell him the narrative, and the actor knew he was onto something amazing.

Kapil told Mid Day that people usually contact him about comedy. For the past 15 years, he has worked on the same type of project. Zwigato gave him the chance to demonstrate his versatility.

In the movie Zwigato, he plays a food delivery man who struggles to feed his family. The film features Shahana Goswami as his on-screen wife. The ordinary activities of a low-income worker revealed his lowly background.

Kapil revealed that, in all honesty, he might have felt uneasy if he had been given the character of a scientist, a doctor, or a businessperson. Yet, he is from this world. Although he hasn't worked as a delivery guy, the comedian has assisted at Coca-Cola.

The actor continues by saying that despite showing how the working class is taken advantage of, the film emphasises that showing compassion and respect can go a long way towards easing their burden.

The alliance between Nandita and Kapil surprised many people because it appeared to bring two very different worlds together. But for the actor, performing in a human drama was as natural as appearing in a comic show.

He explained that they are both humans living on the same planet. They experience the same feelings, and he adds that he gave in to the universe his director had constructed. They didn't do anything else while producing this movie. So that he could totally focus on the film, Kapil shot a bank of episodes for his show, The Kapil Sharma Show.

The comedian had admired the director's brave stories for a long time, and he was glad that Nandita lived up to what he thought of her from her work. She gave the story some thought before casting Kapil. After witnessing her commitment, he gave it his all as well. The actor was aware that she doesn't make movies to generate money but rather because she is passionate about the issues. She participates in every single department. Even in the most trivial of things, Nandita taught Kapil a lot.
