After Stree 2 and Kakuda, there's another horror-comedy waiting to be unveiled. This is Kapkapii, featuring Shreyas Talpade and Tusshar Kapoor in the lead roles. Shreyas Talpade brings in the most comical elements in Kapkapii trailer, despite Tusshar Kapoor also being the face of comedy. This time, Tusshar is seen leaning towards the horror element. Nonetheless, the trailer leaves you feeling that there's a lot that the movie might tap into. Undekhi actor Dibyendu Bhattacharya also bring in elements of comedy that work out.

Kapkapii's origins

Kapkapii is the Hindi remake of the Malayalam film with the same theme (horror-comedy), Romancham. The difference is in Gods. While the original film featured Lord Krishna, this time we have Jesus (the original featured a photo of Jesus over the statue). The original film had more elements of boys having fun, while the remake does not touch upon that element, at least in the trailer. The swing scene, too, despite being repeated, has a different narrative. This promises that the Hindi adaptation could head onto a new direction.

Shreyas-Tusshar Kapoor's first collaboration outside of Golmaal

Shreyas Talpade and Tusshar Kapoor are seen as leading characters in the Golmaal franchise than commenced with Golmaal: Fun Unlimited. Their most memorable scene remains with Gopal (Ajay Devgn), where a mute Lucky (Tusshar) tries to talk to Gopal over the phone but ends up speaking in gibberish. Gopal patiently asks Lucky to pass over the phone to Laxman (Shreyas) who first mimics Lucky and later, on realizing so, he starts talking to Gopal normally. This is Shreyas and Tusshar's second collaboration outside the franchise since, and it promises to bring back similar comical elements.
