Karan Johar bets big on Teja Sajja's Mirai, says the visuals left him astonished

Mirai is HanuMan fame Teja Sajja’s new film, which is all set to hit the screens on September 5, 2025. There is solid buzz for this film, which is also releasing in Hindi, backed by Karan Johar. The theatrical trailer of the Hindi version was revealed today, and it struck a chord with many at the launch event.

Mirai gets a wide release in Hindi

Speaking at the trailer launch, Karan Johar revealed that he was astonished to see the visuals the Mirai team had created. “I thank my team for getting me associated with Mirai. The moment I watched the teaser on the big screen and also saw a few portions of the film, I was astonished. Getting that kind of output on such a low budget is something that deserves to be praised on a big stage,” said Karan Johar.

The star director also added that the way Indian cultural history has been interwoven with a modern superhero theme is one of the biggest highlights of Mirai. Directed by Karthick Ghattamaneni, Mirai has been making headlines for various reasons. Karan Johar also revealed that the world of Mirai is so vast that multiple films can be made in the same genre, and he wished that director Karthick Ghattamaneni would helm more films in Hindi.

Manchu Manoj makes a comeback with Mirai

On the other hand, Manchu Manoj, who plays the main villain, is making his comeback to Telugu cinema after a long gap. Teja Sajja played a key role in HanuMan’s success, and the world of HanuMan was widely praised. Thanks to the massive success, Teja Sajja has become a popular face across the country, and this has given Mirai a new wave of hype nationwide.

A lot of money has been spent on the project, with VFX being its biggest asset, handled extensively by reputed companies. Mirai is releasing alongside Bellamkonda Srinivas’ Kishkindhapuri, which also stars Anupama Parameswaran as the female lead. So there is tough competition for the film to prove itself.
