Friday morning came as a surprise for many as Karan Johar and Kartik Aaryan came together to pose for a photo at the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne 2023 (IFFM). For the uninitiated, there were reports making the rounds that the duo had a fallout back in 2021, which led to Kartik's exit from Dostana 2. Now, while praising the actor, Karan also revealed that they are working on something together after their previous collaboration didn't materialise.
The filmmaker stated, "We did attempt to work together once in the past, but that didn't materialise. But we are working together on something. Hopefully this will materialise."
Karan went on to pull Kartik's leg after he received many marriage proposals in Melbourne. The director quipped, "Kartik Aaryan, what do I have to say about you? I believe you will be married by the end of this trip. What fun if it's a wedding in Melbourne!"
On praising Kartik's latest outing, Satyaprem Ki Katha, opposite Kiara Advani, Karan said, "Kartik's film has resonated deeply with the country and has always brought so much fervour to the cinema hall. More power to him, and may his contribution to cinema always continue. Well done, Kartik!"
Meanwhile, although Kartik didn't make any appearances in the previous season of Koffee With Karan, he was omnipresent as many celebrities made him a call during a sequence. This even led to Karan saying that the actor should be a part of the talk show. Well, we have to wait and watch to see if Kartik will mark his presence in the upcoming season of Koffee With Karan.
On the work front, Kartik is currently shooting for Kabir Khan's Chandu Champion, for which he wrapped a schedule in London.
Talking about Karan, the filmmaker is riding high on the success of his latest directorial effort, Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani. The film crossed the Rs. 120 crore mark at the domestic box office.
