The tug of war between filmmaker Karan Johar and actress Kangana Ranaut refuses to die down! Last evening, popular filmmaker Karan Johar – who is also the most followed Indian filmmaker on Instagram with 16 million followers – expressed how he felt when somebody said something really mean to him about his work.
Speaking with the Indian Express, Karan Johar narrated an uncomfortable incident wherein his work was mocked in the public sphere. Beginning the conversation, Karan said, “Amm... oh my God! Someone said ‘See my talent, see his films’. I was like...amm okay. Alright.” Seconds later, actress Ananya Panday, who was present in the discussion, looked at Karan to check if he is okay.
Soon after this discussion got over, netizens thronged social media and dug out old footage of national award-winning actress Kangana Ranaut wherein she slammed Karan by saying, “Look at my talent, look at his movies.”
Clearly, Karan Johar gets affected by Kangana’s choice of words for him.
Karan Johar and Kangana Ranaut on Emergency
In the same discussion, Karan Johar opined that he looks forward to watching ‘Emergency’ – a film being directed by Kangana – soon and praised her for her all-round effort.
To this, Kangana Ranaut responded on Twitter by saying, “Ha ha... the last time when he said he was excited to see (my film) Manikarnika, the worse smear campaign of my life was unleashed upon me on its releasing weekend… almost all main actors working in the film were paid to sling mud on me and sabotage the film and suddenly the most successful weekend of my life was turned in to a living nightmare for me… Ha ha, I am scared now, very scared… because he is excited again…”
Karan Johar is yet to respond to this development.
When did the feud begin?
The feud between Kangana and Karan dates back to February 19, 2017. On the chat show Koffee With Karan hosted by Karan Johar, Kangana termed Karan as the ‘movie mafia’ of the Bollywood industry and accused Karan of being the 'flagbearer of nepotism".
