The subject of Ibrahim Ali Khan's Bollywood launchpad is reported to have been finalised by Karan Johar, according to B-Town gossip. He's presently working with the director on Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani, which stars Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt. After searching for an acceptable subject, KJo has reportedly decided to adapt this year's popular Malayalam coming-of-age romance drama, Hridayam, for Ibrahim's debut film.
A Bollywood Hungama report suggested that, according to sources, the filmmaker felt that the protagonist's character arc in Vineeth Sreenivasan's directorial was appropriate for Saif Ali Khan and Amrita Singh's son to display his acting talents.
A source told the entertainment portal that it is the most appropriate project for Ibrahim's debut. Karan has been seeking the perfect launch film for Ibrahim for quite some time. Ibrahim is a perfect match for the character of a brash student evolving into marriage and fatherhood in Hridayam.
Karan was also supposed to launch Ibrahim's sister Sara. However, things did not go according to plan, and she made her acting debut in Abhishek Kapoor's Kedarnath (2018). Another issue is that she followed it up with Rohit Shetty's Simmba, in which KJo was a producer.
Back in March 2022, Karan announced on his social media pages. He announced that he was overjoyed and honoured to be able to share this news with people. Hridayam, a wonderful coming-of-age love story, has been bought by Dharma Productions and Fox Star Studios in Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu-all the way from the south, the land of Malayalam cinema. He thanked Visakh Subramaniam and Merryland Studio for the fantastic win. The filmmaker is looking forward to seeing it.
Pranav Mohanlal, Kalyani Priyadarshan, and Darshana Rajendran appear in the film. Hesham Abdul Wahab composed the film's songs and background score.
Hridayam is currently streaming on Disney+ Hotstar.
