Alia Bhatt made her Bollywood debut with Karan Johar's Student Of The Year in 2012. After the success of their first collaboration, the director-actor reunited several times on diffeent projects. And days after the stupendous success of Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani, Karan has once again reunited with Alia for a movie. A few minutes ago, KJo made an official announcement about their new movie, Jigra.

Karan Johar shared the first glimpse of Jigra on his official Instagram handle. Alia will be seen playing the lead role in the Vasan Bala directorial. Bhatt is also co-producer of the film alongwith Karan. The movie will hit the bog screen on September 27, 2024.

Sharing the first glimpse of Jigra, Karan captioned his post, "The return of...my #Jigra, @aliaabhatt once again on this exceptional story helmed by @vasanbala. A story of unbreakable love & unshakable courage! JIGRA - in cinemas on 27th September 2024. @apoorva1972 @somenmishra @irengbamdebashish @marijkedesouza @shaheenb @grish1234 @dharmamovies @eternalsunshineproduction (sic)."

Alia, Karan's last theatrical venture

Karan Johar made his directorial comeback after 7 years with Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani. The film featured Alia Bhatt as Rani Chatterjee while Ranveer Singh was seen as Rocky Randhawa. RRKPK enjoyed its dream run at the box office. Say for that matter, the film got critical acclaim as well.

The Karan Johar directorial also had veteran actors Shabana Azmi, Dharmendra and Jaya Bachchan playing important roles. The supporting star cast of the film included Anjali Anand, Tota Roy Chowdhury and Churni Ganguly. It hit the big screen on July 28, 2023.
