Karan Johar would be my mamaji if he considers Alia Bhatt, Varun Dhawan his children: Akshay Kumar

Akshay Kumar spoke about his equation with filmmaker Karan Joharat the song launch of his upcoming film, Raksha Bandhan. While unveiling the song Tere Saath Hoon Main, Akshay joked that Karan would be his mamaji. The actor responded to a journalist who claimed that Karan calls Alia Bhatt and Varun Dhawan his children.

The reporter asked if Akshay made any relations in the industry. He hinted that Karan Johar considers Alia Bhatt and Varun Dhawan as his children. Hearing that, Akshay called Karan his ‘mamaji’.

“Uss hisaab se toh Karan Johar mere mamaji hue. Main chaar film kar chuka hoon unke saath,” Akshay was heard saying while laughing.

The actor then clarified that he has good friends in the industry and was talking to Karan before coming to the song launch. Otherwise, Akshay is known to stay away from parties and has been tagged as a disciplined and homely man rather than socializing with other celebs.

Akshay had worked with Karan in the movie Good Newwz. The director Raj Mehta and Karan collaborated once again for the latest released film, JugJugg Jeeyo. Apart fromt that, Karan produced Rohit Shetty's Sooryavanshi, which featured Akshay in the lead role.

Karan has worked with Varun and Alia on many films. They have collaborated on the Dulhania franchise, after Varun and Alia made their Bollywood debut with Karan directorial, Student Of The Year.

Akshay was last seen in Samrat Prithviraj. After the release of Raksha Bandhan, Akshay will also be seen in Ram Setu, which is also among one of the most awaited Bollywood films in the current times.
