Karan Johar's Dharma Movies announces action film franchise. Is this the one Sidharth Malhotra gave look test for?

Filmmaker Karan Johar has announced his first-ever action film under the banner of Dharma Productions. He shared an intriguing video with credits that reads the film is going to have a kick of drama, punch of thrill, a knockout story and a dashing face. This has kept the audience guessing if the dashing face is of Sidharth Malhotra, whom he launched in his film Student of the Year. 

The video ends with the sound effect of firing bullets. Sharing the video, Johar wrote: "Dharma Productions is all set to announce their first ever action franchise film! Stay tuned, big announcement coming up tomorrow!!!"

Meanwhile, Sidharth Malhotra is said to have given a look test for an action film of Dharma Productions. Since a couple of months ago, it was announced that he will be doing an untitled project with Karan Johar again, it has only excited the viewers. There are also rumours that the film will also feature Raashi Khaana as the two have often been spotted together outside the Dharma Productions office. 

A source told News18 that Malhotra has been preparing for the role for a long time and has had multiple script readings with directors. He is also said to have tried several looks and a couple of scenes to get into the character while he spent six hours recently at Mehboob Studios. 

The Twitterati couldn't hold it all together. They have been commenting on the announcement saying that cannot wait to see Malhotra in the new avatar. Some even raised questions about how the production house could start promotions of a film even before announcing it and if at all, they could watch it sometime soon. They also asked for updates on Bhramastra first.
