Karan Kundrra purchases vintage car during his trip to Munnar – everything you need to know about his latest purchase

Karan Kundrra just made an impulse purchase. A car fanatic, he fell in love with a vintage car during his trip to Munnar. The Bigg Boss 15 contestant took to Instagram to share the latest in his collection of cars. “Met this beauty in Munnar and instantly fell in love.. one of the original Vauxhall’s which we later came to love as the iconic HM Contessa.. and guess what.. I Had to have her in my garage.. and finally she’s here,” he shared, with photos both in colour and black-and-white (which honestly gives more of a vintage feel).

About the vintage car

Hindustan Motors Contessa is the car Karan has purchased. Like he mentioned, it was originally designed by Vauxhall. The actor bought the classic in blue colour. The car’s model has been discontinued and thus, Karan probably bought it from a car collector. The vintage car has 88 bhp power, 135 nm torque and boasts of 1.8 litre engine. When it was on sale, the same sold for under Rs. 5 lakhs. The price that Karan paid for the antique is still unknown but he would have most definitely shelled out more than Rs. 5 lakhs for the model.

The photos

Right after his purchase, although Karan said that the car would stay in his garage, he instantly took it for a spin on an open highway. The actor shared photos of the same. He posed in front of the car, on top of it and even at the back. One can even spot Mumbai’s Bandra-Worli sea-link in one of the pictures.

Karan not the only to purchase a car today

Interestingly, Karan was not the only one to purchase a car today. Munawar Faruqui also bought a new car for himself. The Bigg Boss 17 winner had already won Hyundai Creta for winning the Salman Khan-hosted. This is apart from earning Rs. 50 lakhs and of course, the trophy. Today, Munawar purchased a black Range Rover. The comedian is in news for other reasons as well today, mainly because of a friendly moment with Elvish Yadav in the middle of ISPL 2024.
