Karan Malhotra: Both Rishi Kapoor and Ranbir Kapoor surrender to the vision of the film and the filmmaker

Ranbir Kapoor and Rishi Kapoor both appeared in separate films that Karan Malhotra directed. He collaborated with the late Rishi Kapoor on Agneepath, and in Shamshera, he oversaw Ranbir. In his interview with ETimes, he discussed the differences and similarities between father and son.

In his opinion, Karan stated that they have a very similar acting culture. However, their on-set personalities are completely off the rails. It is comparable to the North and South Poles.

Regarding the distinctions between the late Rishi Kapoor and his son Ranbir, Karan explained that the senior actor was a flamboyant, outspoken, direct, and aggressive individual; that is not at all true of Ranbir. While filming Agneepath, Karan had so many clashes and confrontations with Rishi. He said of his time working with the late actor that because he treasures the entire time with him so much, he would not want to forget it for a single second. The filmmaker genuinely missed that feature, and he constantly pushed him and strengthened his conviction. It was like fighting and bickering with his parents around Rishi, as he would curse, push Karan, and shout things like "you've gone crazy." They used to frequently disagree.

Karan discussed the similarities between the two talented actors, Rishi and Ranbir, after pointing out their contrasts. He stated that Ranbir and Rishi have this in common: they both give in to the director's and movie's vision. They won't make an effort to muck that up, and their best characteristic is that.

He continued by saying that Ranbir and Rishi both gave him exactly what he wanted. They occasionally offered him much more than he had anticipated. They never carried out independent work. Given their respective fame, there might have been a lot of tension on the sets. They did, however, work for the movie and were professionals.
