It’s no doubt that Kareena Kapoor Khan’s character Geet in Jab We Met was one of her most popular roles. The actress recently said that she should receive some credit for helping the Indian Railways revenue for her character’s contribution.

As part of her episode in the courtroom comedy Case Toh Banta Hai, the actress claimed that the success of her 2007 movie Jab We Met had a direct impact in boosting the profits of Indian Railways.

She also claimed that she helped increase the sales of harem pants, which her character Geet wore in the sequences inside the train as well as railway stations. The actor made the statement, enacting Geet once again, and said, “Mere Geet play karne ke baad harem pants ki sale aur Indian Railways ki revenue, dono badh gayi hai by the way (After I played Geet, both harem pants sales as well as Indian Railways income enhanced).”

Kareena also made another reference to the movie when Varun Sharma, who plays her attorney, urged her to take her court appearances more seriously. “Ab tu sikhayega mujhe, Sikhni hu main Bathinda ki, sab aata hai mujhe, train pakadne se lekar case jeetne tak (You will teach me? I am a Bathinda-born Sikh woman who is knowledgeable about everything from boarding a train to winning in court),” she said, in jest.

In the Imtiaz Ali directorial, Kareena played an effervescent girl, who meets dispirited Aditya Kashyap, played by Shahid Kapoor, in a train. A significant portion of the film’s first half is set inside trains and railway stations.

Case Toh Banta Hai, which is an Amazon miniTV show, features Varun as the defense attorney, Riteish Deshmukh as public attorney and Kusha Kapila as the judge. It also includes the testimony of comedians Gopal Datt, Paritosh Tripathi, Monica Murthy, Sanket Bhosle, Sugandha Mishra, and Siddharth Sagar. In addition to Kareena, Anil Kapoor, Varun Dhawan, and Karan Johar have also made their appearances.
