Alongside Aamir Khan, Kareena Kapoor Khan is currently preoccupied with the marketing of her upcoming movie, Laal Singh Chaddha. Now, the actor opened up about the rumours that she wanted Rs 12 crore for Sita: The Incarnation during a candid interview with Zoom TV.

When unverified rumours surfaced last year that Kareena had increased her pay for the upcoming movie Sita: The Incarnation, the actor made headlines. According to sources, Kareena reportedly demanded Rs 12 crore for the big-budget movie that would demand a longer time commitment. After the Chameli actor received criticism on social media for allegedly increasing her salary, many actors rallied to her defence. It even sparked a discussion about pay equality in the Hindi film business.

During an interaction with the television channel, Kareena said by admitting that she had never actually been offered the gig. In response to the rumours, she stated that she has never explained anything since she never got the chance. Since Kareena wasn't the pick for the movie, she doesn't even understand why she was made to participate in it. All of these are made-up tales, but she doesn't mean to disparage anyone because they even enjoy tales. On Instagram, the actor sees daily searches for various kinds of stories, but she is not sure where that phenomenon originated.

Regarding Laal Singh Chaddha, it will be released in theatres on August 11. Advait Chandan's upcoming comedy-drama is based on a screenplay by Eric Roth and Atul Kulkarni. It is a remake of the 1994 American film Forrest Gump, which was based on Winston Groom's 1986 novel of the same name.

It is produced by Aamir Khan Productions and Viacom18 Studios. Aamir Khan plays the eponymous character in the film, which also stars Kareena Kapoor, Naga Chaitanya in his Hindi cinema debut, and Mona Singh.

The movie will compete at the box office with Raksha Bandhan, starring Akshay Kumar.
