While Yash is all set to play Ravana in Nitesh Tiwari's directorial Ramayana, which also stars Ranbir Kapoor and Sai Pallavi (another South Indian actor who is making her Hindi debut), the actor is also in the news for his Geetu Mohandas film titled Toxic. This movie, his next after KGF Chapter 2, has been creating significant buzz across the country. A primary reason for the news is also the participation of Hindi female superstar Kareena Kapoor Khan.
However, there has been a disappointing update: Kareena Kapoor Khan has now exited the project and is no longer a part of the Yash starrer. The makers are reportedly on the hunt for a new face to star alongside the KGF actor. Read on to learn everything you should know about this shocking update.
Kareena Kapoor Khan Walks Out Of Toxic
According to a recent Pinkvilla report, Kareena Kapoor Khan has decided to walk out of the Yash-starrer Toxic due to scheduling conflicts. There is no mysterious reason behind her departure; it simply came down to the alignment of dates for shooting the film. A source close to the development said, “Kareena Kapoor’s dates do not align with those of Yash for Toxic. After making efforts to set the calendar right, the makers have amicably parted ways.”

Toxic Makers Look For A New Face
Following Kareena Kapoor Khan’s exit, the makers of Toxic are now seeking a new pan-Indian face and have already initiated conversations with several female actors. “There are strong sibling emotions in Toxic and the part of the sister (which was to be played by Kareena) is crucial to the narrative, warranting the presence of a top star. The makers are looking to cast actresses with a pan-Indian presence for the part,” the source added.

For the uninitiated, Toxic marks the first collaboration between National Award-winning director Geetu Mohandas and Yash, who are right now shooting for the movie. The film stars Kiara Advani alongside Yash as they are paired opposite each other romantically. There are no details on what character Kareena Kapoor Khan was supposed to play, other than that she plays the sister to Yash's character. The movie is set to release on the big screen on April 10, 2025.
