Karthi 26: Makers of Karthi and Nalan Kumarasamy film release pooja ceremony video; here's why you need to watch it

The pooja video of actor Karthi's upcoming film, tentatively titled Karthi 26, was unveiled by the makers on social media on Friday. Directed by Nalan Kumarasamy, the film is backed by producer KE Gnanavelraja under the Studio Green banner. The title and the first look of the project are said to be unveiled very soon.

Karthi’s 26th outing is set to be directed by filmmaker Nalan Kumarasamy. While the makers have remained tight-lipped about the cast and crew of the film, a pooja video of the film was released by the makers on social media on Friday. Karthi 26 is backed by KE Gnanavelraja under the banner Studio Green.

The video shows the team and production members taking part in the inaugural ceremony. Actor Karthi is seen alongside his father, Sivakumar, and brother, Suriya. Actor Gautam Karthik is also seen attending the pooja, hinting that the film might feature film.

Nalan, who served as a writer in the 2013 film Theeya Velai Seiyyanum Kumaru, made his directorial debut with the 2013 black comedy film Soodhu Kavvum. The film opened to commercial success and critical acclaim. He has helmed films like Kadhalum Kadandhu Pogum, X, a segment in the anthology Kutty Story and served as a writer in Super Deluxe and Maayavan. It is to be noted that Karthi 26 will mark his first collaboration with the actor.

Karthi 26 titled Vaa Vaathiyaare?

Although the makers of Karthi 26 have not yet revealed the title of the film, it is speculated that the film will be called Vaa Vaathiyaare. Krithi Shetty and Sathyaraj are also expected to be part of the film. An official announcement revealing the key members of the film is expected to be made in the days to follow.

Meanwhile, Karthi is also working with director Prem Kumar of 96 fame on a film tentatively called Karthi 27. The film also stars Arvind Swamy, Sri Divya, Raj Kiran, Jayaprakash, and Saran, among others. The shooting has been wrapped up. Bankrolled by 2D Entertainment, Karthi 27 is expected to be a light-hearted family drama and is shot in sync sound method.
