The mystery thriller will see Aravind Swamy play a pivotal role
Karthick Naren’s long-awaited Tamil film, Naragasooran will finally get a release date. The film which initially had a release date in March 2020, was further pushed back due to theatres closing owing to the pandemic. The long-awaited supernatural thriller might finally get a direct-to-OTT release.
According to a recent report by Cineulagam, the movie could be acquired by Sony Liv, where it will premiere. It was reported that Sony Liv acquired the direct digital streaming rights for Naragasooran last month. There has been no official announcement from the makers or the streaming platform about this.
Naragasooran is a supernatural mystery thriller starring Aravind Swamy, Indrajith Sukumaran, Shriya Saran, Sundeep Kishan and Aathmika, produced by Badri Kasthuri under the banner of Shradha Entertainment. A trailer for the movie had dropped in August 2018, but the film was never released. Following an array of Tamil movies that made big business on OTT platforms, the Karthick Naren thriller will be looking to follow this trend.
Naragasooran was meant to be Karthick Naren’s second directorial, but following the repeated delays for a release, the young director went on to make Mafia: Chapter 1 starring Arun Vijay.
Karthick Naren made an instant name for himself with his directorial debut, Dhuruvangal Pathinaru. The crime thriller went on to be a sleeper hit with a positive response from the critics. The movie starring Rahman had music by Jakes Bejoy and cinematography by Sujith Sarang.
