Karthik Jayaram got his nickname reversed to JK after his fan-favourite character in the acclaimed soap opera Ashwini Nakshatra. JK is always known to strive for roles that break stereotypes. He struggled to take on antagonistic roles as he was often typecast as a “good guy” because of his looks. The actor will be seen in the upcoming psychological thriller Kaada - The Inbuilt Evil as a psychopathic serial killer. Karthik will be playing the titular character of this movie directed by Vishruth Naik.
The movie will take you through several exploits of this ruthless but intelligent serial killer. Talking to ToI, the actor said, “I play a character with many inherent psychological issues and the film is based on extensive research about people who suffer from these problems. Many people are born with neurological disorders and that renders them incapable of being decisive about the good and the bad.” The actor also revealed that his character will have multiple personalities and is “super smart” when it comes to deceiving everyone around him. According to sources close to the movie, JK will play a serial killer who is an adorable IT professional during the day and a ruthless psychopath at night.
Meanwhile, the makers have revealed that they intend to make this movie in two parts. The aforementioned first part will establish the character and his murderous conquests. The second part will shine light on the character’s flashback and how he became the serial killer that he is today. The second part will also feature the police investigation of the murders Kaada commits.
Kavya Shetty of the 2017 Smile Please movie fame is roped in to play the female lead while Achyuth Kumar and 'Uggram' Manju will be seen in crucial roles. The film is being produced by Splendid Films.
