Amazon Prime Video appears to be doubling its investment in regional content to expand its subscriber base in India. The streamer unveiled a slew of upcoming titles for 2024, including Tamil original shows. The streaming platform has partnered with director-producer Karthik Subbaraj to create a web series named Snakes and Ladders.
The show will be produced by Karthik's Stone Bench Productions, with Karthik serving as the creative producer and Kamala Alchemis and Dhivakar Kamal as the creators. Snakes and Ladders promises to deliver a gripping suspense thriller filled with unexpected twists.

New Tamil series Snakes and Ladders
The series will be helmed by Bharath Muralidharan, Ashok Veerappan, and Kamala Alchemis.
Set against the backdrop of a hilly town, Snakes and Ladders follows the escapades of four daring kids who become entangled in a web of dangerous situations. Their attempt to conceal an accident leads them down a treacherous path, pursued not only by law enforcement but also by ruthless thugs and the consequences of their own wrong choices.

It's noteworthy that Snakes and Ladders marks Naveen Chandra's second upcoming collaboration with Amazon Prime Video this year. He is also leading another investigative series titled Inspector Rishi .
The streaming giant also unveiled the trailer for Inspector Rishi, promising a thrilling series. Judging from the promo video, the series seems to revolve around a series of mysterious murders in a hilly village. In the series, Naveen Chandra plays a hard-boiled cop who refuses to accept the theories of villagers suspecting supernatural forces behind the murders. His investigations set him on a chilling path paved with inexplicable phenomena, forcing him to come face to face with forces beyond his understanding.
