Kartik Aaryan gives a shout out to Ek Villain Returns trailer, Arjun Kapoor says 'saviour has spoken'; check out their delightful interaction

Kartik Aaryan saw one of the biggest hits of his career with Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2. The horror comedy was hailed by many for breaking the ‘dry spell’ in Bollywood when it came to box office collections, and Aaryan was dubbed the ‘saviour’ of the industry. Aaryan recently gave a shout out to Arjun Kapoor’s Ek Villain Returns by sharing the film’s trailer, and what followed was a delightful interaction between the two stars.

Sharing the trailer on his Instagram stories, Aaryan called it ‘fantastic’ and ‘superb’, adding that the villains were ‘killing it’. Kapoor took this opportunity to return Aaryan’s praise, saying “saviour has spoken”. Aaryan was quick to respond to the compliment with his endearing brand of humility, and wrote “passing on the torch”.

Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 turned out to be one of the biggest hits to come out of Bollywood in post pandemic times. The Anees Bazmee directorial grossed over Rs 200 crores at the box office, and also figured in one of the top viewership spots on Netflix when it released on the streaming giant’s platform. The film also stars Kiara Advani and Tabu. Aaryan’s upcoming releases include Shashanka Ghosh’s Freddy and Rohit Dhawan’s Shehzada. The actor will share the screen with Alaya F in Freddy and reunites with his Luka Chuppi co-star Kriti Sanon in Shehzada.

Ek Villain Returns, a spiritual successor to 2014’s Ek Villain, will see Kapoor share the screen with John Abraham, Tara Sutaria and Disha Patani. The film is directed by Mohit Suri and bankrolled by Shobha Kapoor, Ekta Kapoor, Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar and Suri under the banners of Balaji Motion Pictures and T-Series. Suri had also helemd the original film,which starred Sidharth Malhotra, Shraddha Kapoor and Riteish Deshmukh. The film will be released in theatres on July 29, 2022.
