Karan Johar To Reunite With Kartik Aaryan For A Comedy Trilogy?

One of the most highlighted pieces of news from last year was when Karan Johar and Kartik Aaryan decided to end their alleged cold war and come together for a film after their infamous split that happened when Dostana 2 was in the making and was later shelved. The two let bygones be bygones and decided to join hands on Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri, a rom-com that is being directed by Sameer Vidhwans. Turns out that’s not all to the partnership. The two have now decided to not just partner for another movie but also get on board for an entire comedy franchise that has a very interesting creator on board. Kartik Aaryan And Karan Johar To Join Hands Again?
As per reports, Kartik Aaryan and Karan Johar are joining hands for director Mrighdeep Singh Lamba’s comedy trilogy that is being backed by Dharma Productions. For the unversed, Mrighdeep Singh Lamba is the man behind the popular Fukrey franchise. He has been developing the movie for a while, and it is a comedy-drama. But now, the movie has become a comedy trilogy.
A source, as per Pinkvilla, said, “Mrighdeep Singh Lamba has been working on this high-concept comedy for a while now, and the film is being designed as a trilogy with Kartik Aaryan in the lead. Karan has loved the concept and instantly agreed to bankroll the project for the big screen. It’s a script that has the potential to resonate with every section of the cinema-going audience,” revealed a source.
The source also added how the yet-untitled film will be a big-scale comic caper, with high-concept elements in the screenplay. “It’s a lot more than just a comedy, as the team is looking to surprise the audience with the scale and visuals. The film is presently in the pre-production stage and scheduled to go on floors in September 2025.”
The source further said that the movie is aiming for a release in 2026, but in the second half of the year. Meanwhile, Kartik Aaryan is currently busy shooting the Anurag Basu directorial alongside Sreeleela. The movie, which was earlier branded as Aashiqui 3, is now untitled, and the fans are awaiting the announcement of the new title. Meanwhile, Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri is set to release on Valentine's Day 2026.
