Kartik Aaryan has now become a popular face in Bollywood. The actor was known after Pyaar Ka Punchnama but on the work front, he struggled to make his identity known to industry insiders for seven years, till the time he played Sonu in the movie, Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety. The actor recalled the same in a recent interview.

“From Pyaar Ka Punchnama to Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety, those seven years were the biggest struggle of my life,” Kartik told Bombay Times in an interview. The actor also remembered how he struggled before cracking Pyaar Ka Punchnama and even after that, he didn’t get the kind of recognition he craved for. Yes, this is despite his popular monologue from the film. The monologue had inspired a second installment of the movie but Kartik was still struggling to be recognized in the industry. He had numerous flops in Akaash Vani, Kaanchi: The Unbreakable, Silvat and Guest Iin London too.

Co-incidentally, Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety had marked Kartik’s re-collaboration with Pyaar Ka Punchnama team – Luv Ranjan and Abhishek Pathak. Kartik was seen in Luv’s last film, Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar, in a cameo appearance too.

The actor promised that his movies would always be about entertainment. While Kartik worked in many rom-coms during his initial stages in Bollywood, the actor has explored the psychological thriller Freddy, horror-comedy Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 and thriller-drama Dhamaka in the recent past.

He will now be seen in Satyaprem Ki Katha opposite Kiara Advani. The actor has also reportedly been roped in for Aashiqui 3, where he is likely to star opposite his Love Aaj Kal (2020) actress Sara Ali Khan.
