Without the support of his industry, Kartik Aaryan rose to prominence as one of the top actors in the business. The actor discussed the topic of nepotism and the opportunities it has cost him in an interview with Filmfare. Nevertheless, he mentioned that he has accepted it.

Kartik Aaryan reflects on his unique journey and opportunities

Kartik stated, "It exists," when asked about nepotism. He claims it exists in this industry because he works there, but he thinks it lives in all industries. The actor's personal journey has been unique. Maybe he would have gotten the same treatment if he had been born into a film family, so he can't say he blames them either. Accordingly, it is not really their fault.

Kartik revealed when asked how it made him feel that he has lost out on opportunities. Never before has he had the opportunity to collaborate with such renowned filmmakers; all of a sudden, they're collaborating with him after completing a film that grossed Rs. 500 or Rs. 300 million. No, he has never done that before.

Since the playing field is uneven, Kartik maintained, it is unfair to compare the journeys of different actors.

Kartik Aaryan's perspective on unfair comparisons

Judging an actor's path is unfair. Those directors and productions—the biggest names at the time he started—will not be on his list if his journey is included. Kartik further asked, "So, when you compare it to an even field, you have to compare it to the fact that if he had also worked with them, would he have been able to reach where I have?"

Thus, stating that it's a fair comparison, the actor added that it is unreasonable to compare oneself to others when the playing field is not level. However, he finds it hard to hold them responsible. Embracing it is something Kartik has done. It's not like anything is wrong with him as he is feeling better as a result of his experience. However, there are also talented individuals. Many people have opportunities, but only a select few are able to seize them and succeed.

In the meantime, Kartik Aaryan's next film, Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri, is produced by Karan Johar, with whom he had a falling out in the past.
