In recent weeks, rumours have been circulating about a possible sequel to the 2004 comedy Mujhse Shaadi Karogi, which was directed by David Dhawan. Rumour has it that Kartik Aaryan and Varun Dhawan will be the lead actors of the film. Aaryan was supposedly being considered for the project; however, new sources have dispelled the rumour.

No Kartik Aaryan in Mujhse Shaadi Karogi sequel?

According to Pinkvilla's earlier report, Aaryan and Dhawan are reportedly in talks to star in the sequel, which would be produced by Sajid Nadiadwala's production house, the same one that made the original. A source in the industry has recently told HT City that the rumours are false, notwithstanding the excitement that this news created among fans.

All the rumours about Aaryan's involvement with Mujhse Shaadi Karogi 2 are false, according to the source. This actor is presently swamped with filming, but he has a couple of other projects in the works that he'd prefer to finish up first, according to the source.

Kartik Aaryan's busy schedule

April and May were filled with Aaryan's intense involvement in the North East shoot of Anurag Basu's untitled film. Fans have already had a sneak peek at the actor's future role in the film thanks to multiple regional clips that have made it online.

According to the source, Aaryan is now more interested in solo-led ventures than in ones with many heroes. The actor sees solo-led films as the way forward that is most in line with his personal evolution and the space he has created for himself; thus, he is currently concentrating on them. He's so sure of his vision that he doesn't mind working on ensemble or multi-hero projects. The source also said that his choices demonstrate that he is one of the most intelligent performers working today.

Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety (2018), in which Aaryan co-starred with Sunny Singh (watch Luv Ki Arrange Marriage), was his last appearance in a multi-hero film. His choice to focus on solo projects has paid off, as the Bhool Bhulaiyaa franchise, which consists of two parts, has earned over ₹600 crore globally.

Kartik Aaryan's upcoming projects

Besides his ongoing efforts, Aaryan has a slew of promising film projects in the works. He has an upcoming fantasy film, Naagzilla by Karan Johar and Basu's directorial co-starring Sreeleela. Sameer Vidwans's 2026 film Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri also features the actor.

At least until Kartik Aaryan finishes up his current commitments, the much-anticipated sequel to Mujhse Shaadi Karogi would have to wait.
