For the second year in a row, Kartik Aaryan seems hell-bent on spending Diwali with his devoted fan base. Following the success of Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 during Diwali 2024, the actor is currently focusing on getting his next romantic comedy, Tu Meri Main Tera, Main Tera Tu Meri, out as soon as possible so that he may make a triumphant return to screens during the festival season.
Scheduled to release on Valentine's Day in 2026, the romantic comedy is produced by Karan Johar's Dharma Productions and directed by Sameer Vidwans (Satyaprem Ki Katha). Nevertheless, changes to the plan are now possible. Sources told Mid Day that Kartik's Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 was a smashing success when it premiered around Diwali last year. He wants to continue the momentum and put his signature on a festival release. The production of Tu Meri Main Tera, Main Tera Tu Meri is set to conclude by the end of July. The source said that the romantic comedy ought to open this Diwali, according to the star.
The film is supposedly almost finished, and it stars Aaryan opposite Ananya Panday. The crew is currently thinking of releasing it in October 2025, around the time of Diwali, based on the timeline. The source continued by saying that the crew at Dharma Productions is talking about potentially releasing it in late 2025.
The setbacks experienced by Anurag Basu's musical romantic drama, another movie involving Aaryan, have necessitated this shift in strategy. Preparations for the film, which was supposed to feature Aaryan and Sreeleela in a new pairing, have stalled, and it will not be released until Diwali 2025.
According to the source, there is still a sizable chunk of the film that needs finishing. It is highly unlikely that the film will be released in time for Diwali, and it seems that an early 2026 release window is being planned.
Even if the Basu directorial is facing schedule issues, Aaryan is determined to keep his run of seasonal releases going. Assuming he finishes filming Tu Meri Main Tera, Main Tera Tu Meri by July's end, he will likely resume shooting the musical in the months that follow.
With the new strategy in place, Aaryan could have a back-to-back festive presence and maintain his box office momentum with Tu Meri Main Tera, Main Tera Tu Meri set for Diwali 2025.
