Looks like fans of Kartik Aaryan have a reason to smile as he is said to have been signed to star in the Hindi remake of the Telugu blockbuster, Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo, which had Allu Arjun playing the lead role. The 2020 action-comedy, directed by Trivikram Srinivas, had Pooja Hegde paired opposite Allu Arjun. The film turned out to be one of the highest grossing Telugu films, both domestic and overseas, and the songs composed by SS Thaman were instant chartbusters.
It is heard that the Hindi remake will have Rohit Dhawan as the director and is tentatively titled Shehzada, with Hussain Dalal as its screenwriter. In a chat with TOI, Dalal had confirmed that Aaryan will be playing the character of Bantu from Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo. He spoke of how different the acting styles and personality traits are between Kartik Aaryan and Allu Arjun, and that those had to be kept in mind while writing the screenplay. He also went on to add, “Allu Arjun has a certain swag and Kartik has his own kind of screen presence and style that we have to play with. An adaptation works best when you are clear about who you are adapting the story for, what you plan to say with it, and how.”
We hear that Kriti Sanon is in talks to play the female lead opposite Aaryan. They had earlier played a couple on screen in 2019’s rom-com Luka Chuppi.
Besides, Aaryan also has other projects that includes Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2, Freddy, Captain India, Dhamaka and Satyanarayan Ki Katha.
