Kartik Aaryan-Sreeleela's Aashiqui 3 may miss Diwali release, eyes Valentine's Day 2026?

Aashiqui 3, the third installment of the Aashiqui series, which stars Kartik Aaryan and Sreeleela, may not premiere in theatres on Diwali 2025, as originally planned. Anurag Basu's directorial effort is reportedly leaning towards a February 13, 2026, release date, which would put it right before Valentine's Day.

Production halt due to scheduling conflicts

Roughly 40% of the film's shooting has been wrapped since it began in March of this year. Unfortunately, filming has halted since the director and main actor are busy with other commitments. Produced by Basu, Metro... In Dino is slated for release on July 4, while Kartik Aaryan's next film, Tu Meri Main Tera, Main Tera Tu Mera, has begun filming.

An insider informed THR India that they expect the next schedule of Aashiqui 3 to commence only in August. Following the current timeline will prevent the makers from finishing the film in September and preparing it for an October release.

Kartik Aaryan's dual looks for the role

Reportedly, Aaryan's character in Aashiqui 3 has two different appearances. The filming of the parts featuring his beard and long hair has already taken place. The insider went on to say that he has now cut his hair for Tu Meri Main Tera, Main Tera Tu Mera, but in Aashiqui 3, he'll sport a short and long beard.

According to the insider, the film's romantic tone would be best served by a Valentine's Day weekend release. Basu is currently engrossed in the post-production of Metro... In Dino as he wraps up that project. February 13, 2026, is a date that makers are likely to lock on because it coincides with Valentine's Day weekend and the deep romance of Aashiqui 3.

The project is still scheduled for a Diwali release, according to those close to the production, despite the continuous speculation and there has been no change to the timeline.
