Last evening, we were treated to the news that Kartik Aaryan and Karan Johar are reuniting on a comedy franchise after their latest collaboration, Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri. The news left everyone in their fandoms excited since the two were allegedly at odds for a long time before they decided to resolve their differences and reunite for the Sameer Vidhwans directorial. Turns out, their partnership has indeed evolved, and Johar has now roped in Aaryan to lead a comedy trilogy that will be headlined by Fukrey fame Mrighdeep Singh Lamba. As per reports, Kartik Aaryan, Karan Johar, and Mahaveer Jain are joining hands for director Mrighdeep Singh Lamba’s comedy trilogy that is being backed by Dharma Productions. For the unversed, Mrighdeep Singh Lamba is the man behind the popular Fukrey franchise. He has been developing the movie for a while, and it is a comedy-drama. But now, the movie has become a comedy trilogy. And, as per a Midday report, the movie is a creature comedy where Kartik Aaryan will reportedly fight a snake as his nemesis. Here are some rom-coms you must watch as you wait for Kartik Aaryan's next.
"The actor and director have displayed their command over comedy in their respective projects, and with the yet-untitled movie, they will venture into the relatively unexplored space of creature comedy. Hindi television has famously tackled the theme of naagin. Now, it will be interesting to see the subject, which was popular in Hindi films in the 1980s, returning to the silver screen," a source told the news portal.
About The Comedy Trilogy
A source, as per Pinkvilla, said, “Mrighdeep Singh Lamba has been working on this high-concept comedy for a while now, and the film is being designed as a trilogy with Kartik Aaryan in the lead. Karan loved the concept and instantly agreed to bankroll the project for the big screen. It's a script that has the potential to resonate with every section of the cinema-going audience. It’s a lot more than just a comedy, as the team is looking to surprise the audience with the scale and visuals. The film is presently in the pre-production stage and scheduled to go on floors in September 2025,” said the source.
The source has also said that the movie is aiming for a release in 2026, but in the second half of the year. Meanwhile, Kartik Aaryan is currently busy shooting the Anurag Basu directorial alongside Sreeleela. The movie, which was earlier branded as Aashiqui 3, is now untitled, and fans are awaiting the announcement of the new title. Meanwhile, Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri is set to release on Valentine's Day 2026.
