Karumegangal Kalaigindrana, which translates to 'dark clouds are vanishing', is an emotional family drama. The movie is based on a short story titled Karumengangal Yen Kalaigindrana? which was also written by Thangar Bachan.
In addition to directing the movie, Thangar Bachan also wrote the screenplay by extrapolating his short story.
Karumegangal Kalaigindrana is an emotional drama
Judging from the trailer, Karumegangal Kalaigindrana seems to revolve around a troubled relationship between a father and son. In the movie, seasoned actor Bharathiraja plays the father's role, Ramachandran, while Gautham Menon essays the role of his son. Ramachandran is a retired judge, who has used his legal service in helping the needy. His son, however, doesn't share the same ideals. For Gautham's character, his profession is a way to make a living and he aims to get paid handsomely for it. "Do you think I am my father to provide free legal aid," asks the son in the trailer.
And this ideological difference between the father and son seems to be the main reason for the rift between them. The movie also seems to examine the stark reality of honesty. While Ramachandran has earned a lot of goodwill and an excellent reputation in society, he's penniless. On the other hand, his son who practices law to further his personal and professional growth enjoys a lavish lifestyle and a powerful position in society.
Besides Bharathiraja and Gautham Menon, the movie also stars Saaral and Aditi Balan in key roles.
