We had earlier reported that actor Suriya is starring in the upcoming Tamil film titled Karuppu. The makers have announced that a fresh update will drop on Wednesday (July 23) for the occasion of Suriya’s birthday. But fans were in for a surprise with the makers dropping the first look poster of Karuppu a day before on Tuesday.

Actor Suriya who was last seen in Retro earlier this year, is set to join hands with filmmaker and actor RJ Balaji for a new film titled Karuppu. With the teaser of the film set to be unveiled on Wednesday, the first look poster of the film featuring the actor was unveiled a day before, starting the actor’s birthday celebrations beforehand.
The first look poster of Karuppu shows Suriya in an all-black shirt and dhoti, as he is seen wearing coolers and a cigar is burning. He walks as the path is filled with local deities. The backdrop has that of a court walls. The first look poster is nearly confirming that the film will be a courtroom drama with a divine intervention.
Written and directed by RJ Balaji, the film's teaser will be unveiled on Wednesday at 10 am. The film is produced by SR Prakash Babu and SR Prabu under Dream Warrior Pictures.

All you need to know about Karuppu
Apart from Suriya, the film will see Trisha playing the female lead with the supporting cast including actors Yogi Babu, Indrans, Swasika, Sshivada, Natarajan Subramaniam aka Natty, Anagha Maaya Ravi, Supreeth Reddy, and others. Shot by cinematographer GK Vishnu, with Vikram Mor handling the action choreography of the film, R Kalavanan is the editor. Arjun Venjaramoodu handles the production design. Karuppu will have music by Sai Abhyankkar who replaced AR Rahman in the film.
A release date for Karuppu is yet to be announced by the makers. The teaser is expected to reveal a lot more details of the film, with Suriya fans getting excited about the new collaboration.
