The first single from Karuppu, the upcoming Tamil film starring actor Suriya in the lead role, is all set to be released very soon. A Sai Abhyankkar musical, the first song will be released on October 20, for Diwali.
We had earlier reported that actor Suriya will be headlining Karuppu. The film is written and directed by RJ Balaji, an actor-turned-filmmaker. While a release date for the film is yet to be announced, Karuppu’s first single announcement has come. On Saturday, the makers announced that it will be out on Diwali, on October 20.
The first single is scored by Sai Abhyankkar, who had his first Tamil release recently in form of Dude. With his work in the film receiving good reviews, fans of Suriya are waiting for the first single from Karuppu. More details on the song are expected to be unveiled soon. It is to be noted that earlier AR Rahman was set to score music for Karuppu, however, Sai Abhyankkar later replaced him.

Fans of Suriya are disappointed with makers of Karuppu for not having announced a release date. Earlier, SR Prabhu, the producer of Karuppu had said the film warrants for a festival release. However, with Diwali being missed, and the team not announcing Pongal release, fans fear that the film will be pushed further.
It features Trisha as female lead, along with other actors including Yogi Babu, Indrans, Swasika, Sshivada, Natarajan Subramaniam aka Natty, Anagha Maaya Ravi, and Supreeth Reddy. Shot by cinematographer GK Vishnu, and Vikram Mor handling the action choreography of the film, R Kalavanan is the editor.
The teaser of Karuppu reveals that Suriya will be playing a lawyer. However, there will also be a divine intervention. RJ Balaji is expected to play the antagonist.
