Kathanar - The Wild Sorcerer: Here's when a major update on Jayasurya's fantasy thriller will be out

Fans and moviegoers have been ecstatic about any updates on Jayasurya's eagerly awaited film, Kathanar: The Wild Sorcerer. Finally, the film's creators have hinted at the release date of the first look.

Kathanar - The Wild Sorcerer first look update

The first glimpse will be released tomorrow morning (August 31), according to the producers. It is anticipated that the first look of Jayasurya as the renowned sorcerer Kathanar will be revealed. It is also expected to be accompanied by an update regarding its theatrical release date. 

There have been reports that the fantasy thriller will probably be released by the end of 2025, despite the fact that the producers have been releasing updates occasionally. Since Kathanar's filming was completed in October of last year, post-production appears to have started soon after it. Given the success of fantasy thrillers like Lokah: Chapter 1-Chandra in cinemas, Kathanar is expected to meet high expectations.

All about Kathanar - The Wild Sorcerer

Prabhu Deva joined Kathanar: The Wild Sorcerer in March 2024. It is expected that more details regarding Prabhu Deva's and the other cast members' roles in the Jayasurya-starrer will be disclosed to the public in the coming days. Anushka Shetty, Sandy Master, Vineeth, Srikanth Murali, and Devika Sanjay all play significant roles in this movie. Anushka is reportedly playing Kalliyankattu Neeli in the film.

Although Rojin and screenwriter P Ramanand have been talking about Kathanar for more than six years, pre-production began more than three years ago. In an OTTplay interview, the director also revealed that the movie was really meant to begin production before his first directorial, #Home. The film is created largely through motion capture and computer-generated images. 

Jayasurya, who plays the film's main character is an ostracised priest, focused on Kathanar for over two years and underwent bodily transformation for it. According to the director, two films that may develop into a series are supposedly being filmed at the same time.
