After the stellar success of Unni Mukundan-led Marco, Shareef Muhammed's Cubes Entertainment is fully focusing on their next venture, titled Kattalan. The upcoming Malayalam film, which stars Antony Varghese in the lead, is touted to be an action thriller. The Kattalan team recently posted a video of their meeting with Kecha Khamphakdee, the stunt master who is known for films such as Ong Bak 2. Khamphakdee also crafted the stunts in the recent Suriya film, Retro, and Pan-Indian successes such as SS Rajamouli’s Baahubali 2 and Shah Rukh Khan-starrer Jawan.
The team posted pictures and videos from their meeting but did not officially announce that Kecha Khamphakdee is coming on board Kattalan. But the fans are taking their meeting as confirmation that the famous stunt master is joining the Malayalam film’s team. Excited fans dropped fire emojis in the comments section, while one person remarked that producer Shareef Muhammed is roping in the best talents for Kattalan.
Antony Varghese, who last starred in Daveed, plays the lead role in Kattalan, which is helmed by debutant Paul George. More details about the rest of the cast are yet to be revealed. B Ajaneesh Loknath of Kantara fame has been roped in as the composer for Kattalan. Online trackers have said that the filming will begin in August 2025.
Meanwhile, you can watch Marco on SonyLiv and OTTplay Premium. The Unni Mukundan-starrer is billed as the most violent film from Malayalam. As Marco set new standards for an action thriller in Malayalam, expectations are high about Kattalan as well.
