Kaun Pravin Tambe?: Special screening of Shreyas Talpade-led biopic held for Rajasthan Royals

Disney+ Hotstar shared a video on April 5, where a special screening of Kaun Pravin Tambe?, a biopic of the eponymous cricketer, was held for Rajasthan Royals, the team with which he made his Indian Premier League (IPL) debut.

The brief video, set to the team's theme song 'Halla Bol', features montages of the team as well as head coach Kumar Sangakarra lounging about and watching the movie. Shreyas Talpade in the titular role.

In the video, the crew can be seen reminscing about Tambe's ability and how he was 42 compared to other players who were still teenagers. 

Previously, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), the team Tambe currently plays for, had shared a video of the cricketer tearing up after watching the movie. 

Tambe became a part of KKR in the 2020 IPL auction, but the BCCI cancelled his contract because he had taken part in the Abu Dhabi T10 league without permission. Following this, he also played the Caribbean Premier League for the Trinbago Knight Riders, making him the first Indian player to do so.

The movie, ever since its digital release, has mostly received a positive response. Kaun Pravin Tambe? also sees Talpade return as a cricketer, 17 years after his debut in Iqbal.

"The beauty of the film lies in its simplistic storytelling. Written by Kiran Yadnyopavit, the film often gives you moments that will bring a smile to your face, even in times of adversity," reads the review of the movie on OTTplay.

The biopic is backed by Fox Star Studios, Friday Filmworks and Bootroom Sports.
