Kaun Pravin Tambe trailer: Shreyas Talpade brings the story of Rahul Dravid’s mentee alive

Shreyas Talpade is back on OTT, this time with a biopic on cricketer Pravin Tambe. Titled Kaun Pravin Tambe, this movie will tell the tale of Rahul Dravid’s mentee who has gone unnoticed in the field of cricket for a long time. It makes for the perfect story for he sets an example of why people should never give up.

Pravin Tambe is an Indian cricketer who was never a part of the Indian cricket team but managed to shine thanks to his appearance at the Indian Premiere League. Shilpa Shetty Kundra’s Rajasthan Royals gave Pravin his break and soon enough, this cricketer caught Rahul Dravid’s attention. Later, Rahul became Pravin’s mentor.

In the recently released trailer though, Rahul is heard talking about how someone like Sachin Tendulkar also does not inspire him as much as Pravin. Rahul also spoke about VVS Laxman, Sourav Ganguly and Anil Kumble and how people expect him to talk about the two popular cricket personalities over Pravin.

The trailer introduces Shreyas in the role of Pravin Tambe, who travels in the local train and does a regular 9-5 job while his mind is always fixated with the bat and the ball. Pravin’s fixation with the game of cricket is clear when he says that he will only work for those who promote the sport.

Pravin Tambe became a sportsman at the age of 41. He was introduced to the world through IPL. Interestingly, Pravin is also among one of those cricketers who changed his bowling style and improved with it.

While he began his journey with Rajasthan Royals, Pravin has also been a part of the other IPL teams over the years. He joined Hyderabad Sunrises in 2017 and Shah Rukh Khan-Juhi Chawla’s Kolkata Knight Riders in 2020.

Another interesting fact about Pravin is that he is the first player to take five wickets in T10. He also got a contract with the Caribbean Premier League (CBL) in 2020 which was the first for any cricketer.

Kaun Pravin Tambe also features Parambrata Chattopadhyay, Ashish Vidyarthi, Anjali Patil, Chhaya Kadam and Arun Nalavade in pivotal roles. While Neeraj Pandey is one of the producers on the film, the project is helmed by Jayprad Desai.

The movie is heading for a direct-to-OTT release. It will start streaming on Disney+Hotstar from April 1.
