Pranjal Biswas – a 10-years old singer from Nadia – became a household name after participating in Sony TV’s music reality show Superstar Singer season 2. He is also the winner of the Bengali music reality show Super Singer Junior. In the recent Bangla film Kacher Manush, which features Dev and Prosenjit Chatterjee, Pranjal’s song Taka Lage has been loved by the audience. Now the little wonder impressed none other than Amitabh Bachchan on his 80th birthday.
Along with Goutam Das and Ananya Chakraborty, Pranjal sang a Rabindrasangeet, Ami Chini Go Chini Tomare, for the 80th birthday of Big B. The team of Kaun Banega Crorepati arranged a special programme for the actor’s birthday in which his wife actress Jaya Bachchan and son Abhishek Bachchan also appeared. In the show, Jaya mentioned Big B’s special affection for Rabindrasangeet and folk songs. Hence, the KBC team arranged for this song on a large screen in the show. Listening to Pranjal’s song, Amitabh Bachchan was in tears.
In an interview with Anandabazar, Pranjal said, “After my singing competition ended, I was told about this shooting. I still cannot believe that I sang for Big B. I am overwhelmed. I seek the blessings of the elders so that I can succeed in my life. My parents also got emotional seeing the show.”
Even after the glitz and glamour of Bollywood, Pranjal is in his village in Karimpur. Even Prosenjit and Dev praised his song in Kacher Manush. Earlier, in an interview, Pranjal recalled that when Dev visited their village many years ago, he missed his school to see the superstar. When he got the offer to sing in his film, he was overjoyed. Pranjal has a number of Hindi film songs on his plate.
