The countdown for the third edition of the Kannada Chalanachitra Cup, or KCC, has already begun and fans are keenly waiting to watch the Sandalwood stars in action. With six solid teams in place that comprise eight former international cricketers, the upcoming tournament promises to enthral everyone, including ardent lovers of the sport.

Kiccha Sudeep, who heads one of the six teams, is spearheading the pre-tournament promotions and was recently spotted at the Karnataka State Cricket Association of Bengaluru M. Chinnaswamy stadium, addressing a few members of the media. He was joined by fellow superstar and Wodeyar Chargers captain Shiva Rajkumar at the interaction and the duo took the media through the ongoing preparations for KCC 2023.

"We have already doubled the ticket sales of the second season which was played over two days. There isn't a lot of money in ticket sales but what I mean to highlight is the turnout and response to the cricket league. Although I would want the whole of Karnataka to come and watch the games, we are certainly hoping to see the stadium packed on Day #2 of KCC 2023. Day #1, which happens to be a Friday, may start off with about 50% occupancy but the following day can be expected to be full-house," said Sudeep with Shivanna and producer K.P. Sreekanth by his side.

The two stars would also poke fun at each other and discuss their respective preparations for the games ahead. KCC 2023 will be played over two days on February 24th and 25th at the M. Chinnaswamy stadium with six teams, divided into two groups, battling it out.

Group A consists of Hoysala Eagles, Rashtrakuta Panthers and Vijayanagara Patriots whereas Ganga Warriors, Hoysala Eagles and Wadiyar Chargers form Group B.

Sudeep leads Hoysala Eagles with the mighty Chris Gayle as part of the team along with Anup Bhandari and Tharun Sudhir and a few others. Ganga Warriors includes India's own Suresh Raina with Daali Dhananjaya being the face of the team, Vijayanagara Patriots boast South African legend Herschelle Gibbs and Real Star Upendra and Sri Lankan opener Tilakaratne Dilshan joins Kadamba Lions with Golden Star Ganesh leading the side.

Martin actor Dhruva Sarja becomes the face of Rashtrakuta Panthers with S. Badrinath being their main attraction with the one, and the only, Brian Lara joining forces with Bhairathi Ranagal himself, Shiva Rajkumar.
